Colorado Walking/Hiking Sticks
Colorado is noted for it's beautiful Aspen Trees. Colorado Walking Sticks are carved from small dead Aspen Trees. They are beautiful when the bark is stripped from the tree. Death of the tree produces changes in the cambium layer beneath the bark. This produces beautiful colors in the wood and gives the stick a rustic appearance.
What makes our Colorado Walking/Hiking Sticks Unique? Your name and an inscription is burned into the walking stick The walking stick is not mass produced but hand crafted one at a time. The walking stick is made to your specifications.
Who carves my walking stick? Some years ago, I started carving hiking/walking sticks from dead Aspen trees to give to friends and my teachers. I am a retired school principal. I had many requests to carve sticks for friends. I am now retired, but busy carving sticks. I would be honored to carve one for you.

BuffaloHow to measure for a cane
Measure from the floor to the crease in the wrist. The arms must be hanging in the normal position while the person is standing. If the person is 70 years or older you may want add another inch to the length. This is because older folks begin to lose a little height in the upper torso.
To measure for a walking stick; measure from the floor to the hand as it would be if the person was holding a ski pole or a broom handle.

Inscriptions such as "Follow your Dreams" or "Climb every Mountain". Generally, it takes me about a week and a half to complete an order.
